Most shows require that the chinchilla is listed by the breeder and the owner, if different than the breeder.
If you did not breed it (it was not born to chinchillas you have), you can show it as the "owner", but, must also list the breeder of the chin as the "breeder".
Being a breeder of good chinchillas takes skill, time and patients. To claim you breed one that you did not actually breed would be taking away from the actual breeder.
When you purchase/buy/adopt a chinchilla the
title "breeder" does
not go with it.
If you would like to show a chin as being the owner of it, you can, but, you would also list the breeder as the breeder of it.
Points, in sanctioned shows, are given only to the breeder for what he/she has accomplished in breeding the particular chinchilla ...
anyone with enough money can be an owner.
