Pixel and the engagement ring
« on: September 13, 2007, 11:40:43 PM »

Let me start by saying that today I finally got my engagement ring, after six months of actually being engaged. The big announcement party is tomorrow.

Well, today, right after he put it on my hand, I went to pet Pixel and give her a raisin... She grabbed my finger and stared at the ring for a few moments and then bit it and tried to pull it off. When she realized it wasn't coming off she took off running around her cage and barking... it was hilarious.

Anybody else got ring stories? I'd love to hear how your chinchillas react to shiny things. :)

::silly::  Congratulations!  Engagements are always nice.  Maybe Pixel wants a ring of her own!   rofl

Earings, watches and necklaces are also fair game for a chinchilla.   ::nod::  Sometimes I think they are kin to a crow in that way ... crows love shining things.

My chin Tonka loves to nibble at my ring any chance he gets! I'm sure he'd be thrilled if I'd just take it off already and give it to him lol.

Both of mine eat my necklace. It's silver and because it's quite soft it now has nibble marks in it. I can't wear it around them any more because they find it so interesting they don't pay me any attention!

LOL several of my chins took an interest in my rings.  Luckily, diamonds are tougher than chinchillas, so they gave up pretty quickly.  They do have great fun stealing my glasses from my face.  I am nearly blind without them, so not wearing them is not an option.  But imagine trying to feel around to catch the chin that stole your glasses right off your face.  Boy are they quick!  Then the little thieves won't let go of them, I find myself playing tug-of-war with a rodent over MY glasses!   :2funny:  Last time I went to have them adjusted the optometrist asked if I had a puppy because of the bite marks on my lenses.    ::)

Haha, Chin-Chin has stolen my glasses before, too - luckily, I'm not blind without them and I promptly got them back.

Actually, I purchased a black and gold bracelet today at a yardsale, and the little chin actually got it off of my wrist as I was petting him.

I tell you, someone should train them as pickpockets, haha!

My glasses have bite marks all over them too.  :)
And all my belts get chewed.

One of my chinnies has my diamond from my earring in her tummy. I couldn't believe she got it out of it's setting. ::shrug::
