picking on its food
« on: October 26, 2007, 07:53:30 AM »

my chinchilla is picking her food.  i give her hay and pellets each day, and she picks only the small pellets to eat and for the hay... she sometimes only chew on the more leaffy ones.  The pellets im using are around one cm long, and she likes to eat the broken ones only.  Does this mean she has problem with her teeth?? Also wat brand of pellets are the best... cuz the one im using is mixed and i need to pick out the treats everytime i scoop the pellets out.

If you are feeding a mix food it sounds like she is just picking out her favorite parts.  It also tells me that you are not feeding a healthy food.

If you must buy from a pet store choose Mazuri.  If you can order feed I highly recommend Tradtion.
