Please someone help me, please!
« on: December 04, 2007, 07:59:55 PM »

I know this probably isn't going to help me in time, but I need to do something in the meantime. Something is wrong with Maggie, my husband wa spot cleaning the cage and noticed Maggie's fur was kind of dirty looking and when he picked her up and turned her over she had a pink bulge in her belly and she's been chewing on her hair. She doesn't seem distressed, but she keeps trying to roll in her bedding and keeps licking and biting it. We seperated her from our other in chinchilla.

My old chinchilla Veterinarian, who I loved is retired and they aren't referring new exotic clients to anyone else right now. We're waiting for the emergency vet to open up so we can call them and take her in, I'm so terrified though because NONE of the ones I've found have good reviews reviews online. Is bad care better then no care?

I don't know what to do for her till we can get a hold of the vet. I don't even know what might be wrong.

She seemed fine yesterday, she took hey from my hand and I rubbed her head!

Also she's been eating fine and drinking. I haven't noticed any shortage of poop and I know she's peeing because she's the one that pee off the leaping ledge and I just cleaned it off the other day.
