Chinchilla Dreams??
« on: January 06, 2008, 11:47:21 PM »

Does anyone here find that since you've gotten your little buddies that... they are CONSTANTLY in your dreams?? It seems like every night I see Pixel or another chinchilla in my dreams... and for some reason they're usually multiplying! (By which I mean there's like one, and all of a sudden there's two, and then four, then eight... so on and so fourth.)
I just woke up from an accidental nap, in which I had a dream that we came home from the grocery store to find Pixel sitting on the hope chest, and when I went to pick her up there was a *POP* and then there were two of her! O.o
I'm I insane or do you all have dreams like this too?

lol I don't think you're insane, I have dreams about my chin all the time. Typically I'm at the pet store trying to buy more (even though I didnt even buy mine from a pet store) and there's just a ton of them in one little glass cage and it always makes me sad. And in my dreams, the kits are always REALLY tiny. Like half the size they are in real life I think lol. They're always really cute though!

To be honest I had my first chin dream the other day... We have a hunch that Cheech might be pregnant for various reasons and I dreamt that she had babies.

Most of the time I used to dream about my old rabbit Lopsie, and yes he was multiplying. I dreamt that I would go out to see him and there would be two of him and I would be upset because I wouldn't know what the real him was. and when he died I used to dream that I would go out and he would be there, which used to upset me after I woke up. I wonder why we are all dreaming out pets are multiplying.

I've had this with several of my pets. Is your chin's cage somewhere within eyesight of your bed?

Typically, you end up having these types of dreams about your (usually caged) animals because they're one of the last things you see before you fall asleep. Also, people usually open their eyes several times while they're asleep. Although you're not actually awake, your brain records the data your eyes are sending to it, in this case, your chin.

For me, it was a prairie kingsnake that I've had for a long time. His cage was on top of the armoire next to my bed, and so coincidently I would end up having dreams that with him in it about 4 times a week...

I haven't dreamed about the chinchilla (and remembered it), but I have caught Ari dreaming.  She's sitting there sleeping and nibbling away on something - world's biggest raisin, maybe?

That might be true in a since because my chins have their own room outside. Right before I go to bed I go out feed, water and check on every one. I am always thinking about them first thing in the morning too!  :::grins::

Go you, GaianHowler! I totally knew that, but I never actually thought about it. I don't know why I didn't. Yes, Pixel is the the corner directly cattycorner from my bed, the room is big, but I can still see her, especially the way I sleep, lol.

I constantly have chinchilla dreams!  They are always bizarre, and either very happy or very sad.  The happy ones usually involve Ninja letting me carry him around and he's super friendly and cuddly and free.  The sad ones happen more often though, and I think it's cause I'm a real worrier about my chins.  In my dream they sometimes have broken bones or diseases or they're dying...ugh it's horrible but a relief to wake up.  For a while I have to keep reminding myself that it was only a dream, they're okay.  They're the kinds of dreams that stay with me for the rest of the day, haunting me.

My boyfriend has similar chinchilla dreams as well, and we always tell each other our dreams when we wake up.  This way we remember them almost every night.  It's exhausting - all that dreaming sometimes!

I even talk in my sleep about mine.
During Christmas Hubby said I said, " I'm giving Pokie to the spirits", he was my very first.
There are many nights I can't sleep thinking about them too.
I just let my son take one, my first kit Waverly that I dropped at birth. He is blind in one eye, but has perifial vision in the other. He also has seizures.
My son is dylexic, so he has always had a special bond with Waverly. They are both special.
The first night I never closed my eyes, wondering if it's to warm for him at his place. :blush2:
He's doing fine, and loves all the attention Mathew is giving him.
Yes that's Mathew with one T, I come from a long line of dyslexics :D

To tell you the truth, I had a dream about my chin last night! He was in a little tuxedo, top hat, and shoes, and there were, like, 100 of him, and they all grabbed canes and started dancing  rofl rofl rofl
