It was 110 and humid where I live this weekend. We had monsoon like weather with sudden downpours and thunder/lightning.  :-\ My Grandma lives about 10 miles from me and she had her power on and off all day. Luckily, no power out at my house. :) I have been worried about it though. This HOT HOT HOT weather is not supposed to let up until September.  :(

Same here!

It's funny cause my company has a location in Georgia, and its rare its hotter here then it is there, but right now no only is it hotter but its more humid here as well.

After my last A/C scare I have all my bottles ready to go. I had my b/f stuffing bottles in socks and putting them in cages before he left for work today. His shift got changed at work, so now we have a 2 hour gap between times where no one is home. At least It wont be too long.  ::)
This weather and humidity really take it out of you. It's like a sauna outside. The humidity isn't as bad today, but it sure isn't good. I am heading out to the beach this weekend where is it at least a little cooler and we can play in the water.  :::grins::

::silly::They miss you as much as you miss them.  I'm glad your kids are there also ... that way it's not completely strange for them and the kids still get to enjoy them, too.

Better to be safe!   ::nod::

Just curious ... why are you putting the jars in socks?   ;)

I just put the jar in, with a metal lid on tight and they lick off the condensation that forms on the outside of the jar. About the same thing, I guess.  Main thing is keeping them cool.  ::nod::

I have a few plastic bottles that needed to be covered. Most are glass, but I am clutsy and tend to break my glass bottles, cups, and dishes often.  :D

::silly:: When freezing water in the jars, fill them 1/3 to 1/2 freeze, then to 2/3 without a lid on them ... it needs room to expand ... or fill them with ice and add water about 1/3 of the way up, let it freeze and repeat.  It has to have room to expand.  :doh:  Sorry, I do it without even thinking about it.  I busted a bunch of jars before I figured out how to do it right ... that was about 10 years ago.  Sometimes we forget there are new comers.   :blush2:

I am still new at this But I did only fill the jar 1/2 way with no lid I remembered that water swells when it freezes and took that into consideration maybe one of my kids messed with the jar and broke it who knows ::wacko::

Then, I'd try filling it with ice and do the 1/3 the way up and freeze and repeat ... that way part of it (the ice cubes) are already expanded ... less freezing time also.   ::nod::

Let me know if it works this time.

I haven't had a problem with my jars breaking in the freezer, it's just me! I can't seem to hold onto anything breakable.  :doh:
I need to go pick up some glass bottles this weekend. The chins haven't seemed to mind the socks on the plastic bottles.  rofl Today is the first cool day in a long time its less than 100 out. Yea!! ::banana::
