Home Grown grapes to raisins?
« on: February 29, 2008, 08:36:44 PM »

Has anyone done this? We have a grape vine that goes pretty much unnoticed, but it does make good grapes... small, but if we eat them they're excellent. We've never used pesticides on them, only soap and water mixtures to kill bugs, but I was wondering... Can I dry them out, like I do apples, to feed Pixel??? That would be so awesome, it would save a little money (very little, but still) and I think it would be fun.
Does anyone do this at home? Do you have any advice?

Hi,
We have wild grapes growning in the summer, we made grape jelly with them. It's very good and not to hard to do. I never tried to feed the grapes to my chins, to bitter, plus I don't want them to get to much of a sugar rush. I know they do love grapes and raisins.

I am sure that if you know how to do it, it is most likely better than store-bought raisens.
