Erin passes
« on: May 07, 2008, 05:16:13 PM »

My baby girl passed away last week. Her name was Erin. She was 6 months old. She was Bob's best friend. Bob is my 1 1/2 year old male. I don't know what happened. I cleaned both of thier cages that day. Let them have their supervised play time, then gave them a snack(dried apricot) before thier dust bath, and put them back in thier cages. I did everything like I always have with them. She was hopping around all excited like usuall. She and Bob were "talking" thru the cage bars. He even brought some of his timothy hay over to her. I said goodnight to both of them and headed to bed. In the morning I got up, and went to check on them as I always have. Bob was acting wierd and Erin was in her house. At first I thought that Erin was sleeping, but when I got closer I knew in my heart that she had died. She died inside her home. As soon as I took her out of her cage Bob started squeaking for her. They always "talked" to eachother. I cried for a long time, just holding her in my arms. Even now as I sit here typing I'm crying again. I guess the worst part is not knowing what happened. Bob is slowly getting better. I think that it hit him the worst. For several days he would call to her. He even stopped eating for a few days. My bigest fear was that I would lose both of them. I think that slowly he is getting past his loss. Bob is eating now, but he seems lonely. He sits on my lap, which he never used to do.
I hope Erin is in Chinnie heaven. :'(

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  My heart goes out to you and your message made me cry, too.  It's terrible losing a pet.  At least you have Bob to share your pain with, and the two of you will be closer than ever when you get through this sad time.  I'm sure Erin is in chinnie heaven.  It will get better in time, ok?   ::nod::

I am so sorry about your loss of Erin.   :'(

Loosing a pet at any age is hard, but when they are young and for no reason, it is harder.  Please give Bob extra love and he will give it back ten times.  You both need each other now.

Thinking of you!   :hugs:

My heart is with your during this hardsome time. May peace fill your soul after you grieve. Know deep in your heart that you did nothing wrong, it was just her time. We don't know when it's our time, it just is.
Take care of your yourself and your chinny.
