Wanted to give you all an update!  I ordered a new wheel, but in the mean time put the flying saucer wheel in the cage.  The new wheel hasn't arrived, and guess what?  Kira figured out the flying saucer wheel today!  I couldn't believe it, she just hopped up and started running, after months of having it in the cage!  I'm so proud of her!     M'noke's interested now, it won't be long that they both have it figured out!

What am I going to do with the new wheel now?

  Put it on e-bay or find another chinchilla lover to buy it from you!       

   OR  use it as a second wheel outside of the cage.    

   Maybe one of the others that have already posted on the first page might want it.

   I'm still iffy on giving it away.  Kira has fallen in love with the flying saucer, but M'noke still does't know what to do.  I think Kira's smarter than me!     M'noke's whiskers have grown back beautifully!

Hi all! 

Now my little one (Santi) is getting frayed whiskers.  Only we have a flying saucer, so my guess is that Lulu's been chewing on them, as Joann suggested in a previous post.  Does anyone know why Lulu would do this?  She's the older, more dominant one.  Anyone know how to get them to stop?

Sometimes they will chew off their cage mates whiskers as a sign of dominance.
I'm not sure how to make them stop.

Thanks Harleychin.  I feel so bad for her, she slips and falls all over the place now!  I mean she doesn't hurt herself, but she's definitely unbalanced.

Your welcome.   Make sure to watch them for other signs of aggression.If there is any blood involved in a fight then it's time separate. Good luck with the little ones.

I will, but I think they'll be fine.  They've been best friends since I introduced them about four months ago.  They're both sweet and very mild-mannered!
