Well lately my chinchilla has not been going into her little hide out, i bought her a new one and she goes in there, but when she is not in there she lays out stretched against the wires of the cage. Could something bee wrong with the home because she used to go in but not anymore? Also i have a little ball you fill with hay and hang from the roof and she just yanks out and throws it on the ground....

Is there any way you can post a picture of the cage and set up...Also what's the temps your keeping her in. Is there a room thermometer in there to know the acurate temp of the room shes in? Is the hay ball thing new as well?

She could just be sleeping or she would be overheating. If her ears are red she is most likely overheating. I would get her to a cooler room.

Ill get a picture up ASAP but yes everything is very new, and it is probably about 72 degrees but i dont have a thermometer and her ears dont look like they are red, if they were would it be the whole ear?

My chins both have been caught sleeping on their sides pressed up against the bars this just means they are comfortable in their surroundings . I have a house in the cage and they sometimes go into it but not all that much. As for the hay thing I believe that is normal too. I think I end up wasting alot of hay because they just scatter it all over . You have not said anything here that makes me think there is anything at all wrong.

   What type of material is each one made of?  Maybe she likes the new one better if it is made of a different material.
OR  Maybe the old one needs a good cleaning???

  Please get a thermometer ... 72 is the border line of getting hot enough to cause a heat stroke.  Also, if the sun beams shine on the cage at any time during the day, this will cause it be become even hotter.  You would need to place the cage in an area that never has the sun shining directly on the cage.
You may want to invest in a couple of chin-chiller stones or a couple of mason jars with tight fitting metal lids.
The chin-chiller stones can be found in your regular hardware stores that carry tile ... a granite 12" square cut in half makes two nice chin-chiller stones.  (Keep the one not being used in the refrigerator. 
Mason jars are very handy to fill with ice cubes (do no freeze water in them, they can bust), then screw on tightly a metal lid.  The chin will huddle near it where the cooler air is and will lick the cool condensation on the outside of the jar.   NEVER use plastic.

Some of my chins will eat every little piece of hay, while others seem to be very picky and will smell each piece ... if it does not suite them just right ... out of the cage it goes!

If the veins in the ears are very obviously red or stand out, then the chin is probably overheated, or in the process of becoming overheated.  If the whole ear is read she's really in trouble.
