POSTING FOR JOYCE [/b]

Joyce's Mia is in process of having kits!   

2 so far! (at 10:00 a.m.) I'm not there ... relaying via phone calls ...
  #1 "Reverse" Mosaic/Standard Gray    male 74 grams
  #2 "Reverse" Mosaic/Standard Gray    male 71 grams 

The boys are technicality white mosaics, we think ... it is custom if there is more gray than white to refer to them as "reverse" mosaics.  They can, and probably will, get more white as they get older. If they are actually white mosaics.

  Up Date: We need to clarify something for y'all ... Most kits born that look like a standard, but have a white tail, end-up being white mosaics as they get older ... BUT ... Mia came from Ralph Shoots ... many of his standards that are born with a white tail ... gray out and are beautiful standards.    
 This is a new one on me, so time will tell!     

    Would any one like to get a poll going on this and see what you think each will end-up being? 

Joyce said one of the boys's tail is a very light gray (like a powder gray) and the other one's tail is white white ... so we shall see what the future brings!

Sorry I am late with these, I have been out most of today!

   Yes folks, they are finally here!  Mia & Oki have 2 beautiful sons.

Oliver & Milo entered the world right on mia's due date, DAY "111".   Oliver was born at 9:15 AM and Milo was close to follow at 9:38 AM.  They were both nice big boys weighing in at 71 grams and 74 grams!  Not sure of their exact colors yet, time will tell.

Everything went very well and was uneventful, thank goodness.  We were here for the entire event from start to finish and aside from taking about 10,000 photos we were able to do a video tape as well. 
Mia & kits are all doing well today, she is a great momma.  The boys are full of energy and have started eating bedding already and climbing to the top of the whelping cage and letting go!  This is somehting I have heard of frequently but finally know what you all are talking about now!     They are very entertaining already 
 
I am totally in love and can honestly say I have never seen anything as cute in my entire life!

   Where did the time go?  Mia's kits are now 8 weeks old, yes "8 weeks"!!!  Can you believe it?  Time has flown by. 
Just wanted to give an update.    Mia is doing very well and has just continued to improve.  I would say she is back to her normal self now, thank goodness.    She is still very close to her kits.
Oliver and Milo are doing very well and they are pretty big guys!  Oliver weighs 220 grams now and Milo is right behind him weighing in at 199 grams.  They are both beautiful standard grey chinchillas.      We are keeping both of them, they are very much a part of our family.
The boys will go in daddies cage with him next week.  Dad and kits have been in close contact (through daily visits) throughout their 8 weeks.  Everyone gets along very well.  Dad is in a huge Quality Cage Townhome, same as momma.  The kits should have no trouble adjusing to it, Mia & kits were moved into momma's big girl cage a couple of weeks ago and have done fine.
