I was thinking of all the strange things I've started doing over the past few years since we got Cheech and I thought for a bit of fun I'd make a thread which we could all add to and compare.

You know you're obsessed with chinchillas when...

You started off with one chinchilla but now (?) years later you own (?)
Everything you own has tiny bite marks in... and you think it's cute.
All your new furniture is untreated pine so it's not harmful to your chinchillas (and you're not bothered that it's going to get chewed).
You find chinchilla poo in the weirdest places in your house.
You find chinchilla poo at work, although you're not sure how it got there.
You talk about chinchilla poo far too much.
You've come up with your own pet names for chinchillas, like chinnies or finnies.
You talk to your chinchillas like they're babies/children/adults.
Chinchilla proofing your house is an ever changing and active sport.
You're sure your chinchillas are smarter than you.
You're sure your chinchillas are laughing at you.
You've learned to read chinchilla body language better than you can humans.
When people visit they must be introduced to the chinchillas like other members of your house, or you feel rude.

And now add some more.

When you look at your cat and think he needs a dust bath.
When "One little cage in the bedroom with one little chinchilla"turns into three big cages with four chinchillas taking over the bedroom.
When the sound of little feet running in their wheels helps your drift off to sleep.
When you look into the eyes of your chinny and your heart just melts.

...when you refer to your chins as your 'children'.
...when you proudly announce you are a 'chinnie parent'.
...when you tell everyone your chin considers you a 'big chinnie' ... then grin real big!   
...when no matter where you go or who you talk to, you manage to get "chinchilla" into the topic of conversation.
...when your 'brag book' also contains pictures of your chinchillas as well as your kids and/or grandkids.
...when you say no to going one of your favorite places, because it will interfear with the scheduled playtime with your chins.
...when you sit and tell your chinnie all your problems, knowing it will go no futher.   
...when everything you look at in the toy department or knickknacks, you first think of it as a prop for a chinchilla photo shoot ...   
And most important of all ... when you know you will laugh out loud at your chin's antics, even if you have no other reason to laugh.

.....when shopping or garage sale shopping and you spot stuff that would work for or be good for the chinchillas
.....when your first stop in the morning is a birthing cage, and you don't make it to the bathroom
......when the chins have their own photo albums
.....when you have to tell the kids {grandson}not to eat all the chin treats
......when your cutting up fleece shirts for the chins
