Safe Oak Dowel wood type?

I been looking for wooden dowels to hold up one of Stormys wooden lege's seams it is the only one that is saging and is one of his fav legs to nap on and the wire cage just ant doing it.. Well I read Thier is safe oak and their is poisons oak for chin's... My issue is it's Madison 3/8 Oak Dowel.. only info I can get on it it is USA  kiln dried Oak. and cant find the company listed any where to call to find out... any one know for sure if safe or not..

i know around here they have pine and birch dowels and on the web too?  [we hve home depots and lowes]

i dont know anything about pine dowels..sorry

Seeing the issue at hand is regarding Oak ,I don't see an issue and FYI Lowes sell's only Oak dowels(No other type listed) from "Madison" same with their online, as per their wider ones are listed as other hardwoods not listed type's. Regardless though they don't list what type of Oak the dowels are made from which I'm currently searching for the answer too.

try going to the store and asking..  just a thought...

when i went to the store and asked [but again, not sure which one] i had a choice of birch and pine.

and i'm so paranoid, everything time i do go, i always ask.. what type of wood is this...  [hehe they probably hate me]

anyways, do want the dowel pins or the whole dowels?  i can get some dowel pins and send them to you, i'm in the usa.  the dowel pins i get are safe.. there is also a site with dowels made from all different types of woods... even popular, but i think you have to buy in bulk and my store isn't that big yet so those i dont' order.
