Our visiting Parrot
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:46:45 PM »

I am sitting for a friend , his name is Ripley and he was hatched in April 2009.
I have only ever seen them in the pet shops so this is all new to me.
What a blast.
The other night he was sitting on his outside perch next to us in the dinninig room.
He made the motion to fly so I put out my arm and he walked onto it. Then down my chest and over to hubby.
We figured he was looking for something so I offered him some raw celery. He eat some and threw in on the floor.I offered him a sliver of steak, he took a nibble and threw that on the floor.
Then he tried to take off Chris's glasses. Once they were out of the way he started taking steak right out of his mouth.
I guess he likes it chewed for him first.

Yes they do eat meat, and he loves the marrow in the chicken bones, He'll split them right down the middle and lick every bit out.
I will be offering my services any time she needs it  ::nod::
