Snuggle buddy
« on: April 20, 2010, 08:05:02 PM »

So reading through posts I saw that some owners said that the chins sometimes like a stuffed animal companion.  I went to Petsmart, browsed through the selections and picked up a hedgehog dog toy.  Fairly small, no plastic and even though it's a hedgehog because it is furry kinda somewhat looks like a chin  :chin: so I thought well I'll give it a go.  After playtime that night ::silly:: I introduced toy to Lucy.  She likes to perch on top of her house so I put the toy there and watched.  Lucy hopped up next to her new friend (who I have dubbed Ethel) and she put her front paws over Ethel and pulled her in close and at first I thought she was chewing her but on closer viewing Lucy was grooming Ethel!! She tucked Ethel under her, closed her eyes and began to drift off to sleep -  ::kiss99:: it truly was love at first sight!  I have kept a close watch on Ethel and there are no chew marks or pieces of her in the cage so Lucy has decided this is a snuggle buddy for sure.  It is so cute to see Lucy in her house with Ethel all cuddled  |hugs|

Oh man, I love this.  We have a small 2-inch step down in our cage.  Our male sits in that little space and our female plops her head on his!  It's great  ::silly::

Lucy has decided that Ethel must stay in the house.  If I take her out of the house and put her anywhere else in the cage I get a dirty look  ::tickedoff::and she goes over to Ethel and bites her nose as if to say 'Put her back'.  So a picture may be a little tricky to get.  I do check on Ethel daily to make sure that Lucy is not chewing on her and so far so good.
Now if I could just get Lucy to stop throwing her tiles out of the cage ::pull hair::
