Does anyone know if Chins can eat Asparagus...I wanted to cook some and thought about adding it as a treat for my two little ones.

No fresh fruits or veggies...period!  You can give dried fruits, though.

i don't know if this is for every "green veg" or just some, but i always heard that the greens are gassy..

yes that's what I would think.Chins can't do gas.
I have said mine have nibbled dandelion but that's it a nibble in the yard. I'd just move them along if they got to interested.
I have tried mine with fresh fruit now and then, they never eat it.
I have always found if it goes in wet It comes out wet.
I know Jo Ann has tried, but you know her, it's a very rare treat.

WHat they may like and what is good for them are very different. No fruits or veggies here and I have seen someones chinchillas get very sick (all of them) after being given fresh foods as treats

There was a thread a little while ago were someone gave one meat!! Yes he ate it but it killed him.
I have tried fresh apple & banana. They love banana yogurt.
I stick with tried and true. Dried fruit & cereal, and sunflower seeds on occasion.

Jo Ann was worry about the chemicals in dried fruit, but what I buy seems to have nothing but dried fruit.  ::shrug::

actually, is there anything they don't like... little porkers i say... ;) 

they would eat the whole house up if we didn't keep an eye on them.

mine hate, anything that is fresh.  The look at me like, umm my feet are going to get slimy.  That ended that when they were babies!  They absolutely hate cardboard  :2funny:
