chewed up ears
« on: May 01, 2010, 10:14:31 PM »

Lucy came to us with her ears a little ragged.  Her left ear is missing a portion on top (looks like someone took a bite of out it) it also has a split and her right ear has littles holes in it as if she got it pierced multiple times.  I guess when she was in the cage at the pet shop with another chin it decided to show her who was boss  :::((( and since she was only a baby well, you get the idea. My questions is-will her ears ever heal completely and is there anything I can put on her ears to help the healing process?  I feel so bad for her that she was abused this way, she is such a sweetie with us. Oh, she will let us touch her ears a bit, so I'm guessing no pain or anything like that, it just looks so pitiful  ::chinsad::

Yes they seem to like to bite ears and toes.
Often the mothers can tear the ears in a difficult birth too.
It they are still soar you can add some sporine ointment to them, but if all is healed you'll just have to get used to looking at them that way.
I have one with no ears  ;)

Thanks!  :::grins::  She is not in any pain and they are not sore, but I just wanted to make sure I was doing all I could to make her feel better. ::chinhappy::

One of mine has half an ear, her momma did a Mike Tyson on her while giving birth! At first I was sad for her but now I love it. It adds so much personality to her :)
