organic orchard grass
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:18:05 AM »

Someone has offered to give us some local, organicly grown orchard grass for our new chin. However, she found out that it has been grown in soil which has been fertilized with urea. So she is wondering- and so are we- whether or not this ingredient is safe for chins. ANd if a fertilizer has been used, is the grass honestly "organic", or not? Any help would be appreciated.
We are new to the forum and have poured over the Q&A's- it has been very helpful so far.
Thanks for a great group. God bless you.

I prefer some famous brand dried grass hay like Oxbow, Kaytee rather than some unknown source of hay.
It's not mean that your said "organic orchard grass" is having problem, but if I am not 100% sure it is safe, I would not offer to my chins!!

Grass hay doesn't cost much but VET bill does, and the life of our chins even cannot count by money, so you should know the choice.
