My chin won't eat pellets no matter what.  I have tried three different brands, but he still won't eat the pellets.  If the brand has different items in it, he will eat all of those, but leave the pellets.  He has an unlimited supply of hay, and I make sure to give him a treat everyday.  He obviously isn't starving, but is he getting enough?  I haven't tried getting alfalfa pellets.  Any thoughts on why he might hate pellets?

How long have you had him?
Has he always been like that.
The pellets from the pet shops are full of treats that's why he's eating all the other stuff and not the pellets.
You should try to get a good quality pellet available in your area.
Cut out all treats, and take note of how much hay he's eating. If he's eating lots I wouldn't worry too much. I would mix different hays though. Get him Timothy & alfalfa, and there are others.
Many of my chins prefer hay over pellets, some are the opposite.
Are his droppings normal?

I've had him since October, got him from a petstore.  I wasn't really aware of all the adoption and breeding agencies at the time.  He hasn't been eating pellets since day one.  At first all I gave him was hay and pellets, with a single raisin a day.  He eats lots of hay, and I've never seen any signs of problems in his droppings.  I'm not really worried, he seems to be doing well and is happy.  I just wanted to make sure that he is getting enough with the hay and treats.  He ate a whole sandwich bag full of hay since last night, so he definitely isn't starving.

I'm a little worried that hay alone won't meet his nutritional needs.
I feed Alffy pellets and  lots of Timothy hay.
Do you measure his pellets to see if he's eating any at all?

This scares me, he should be eating pellets. Try pellets WITHOUT any treats like mazuri. Some pellets contain sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, peanuts, ect and that's all they eat. But if he's not eating his pellets he is not getting enough nutrition. Hay alone is not enough.
