Need quick wood help
« on: July 05, 2010, 05:02:29 PM »

Im at the local homedepot buying wood planks to make extra shelving. I know pine is ideal but theyre pricey. I also know to avoid cedar or eucalyptus. Is red oak or poplar ok?

good to know. I soon found out theres a cheaper pine option. I just made sure I got solid pine and not the one with glue

i made most of my ledges out of a 1x10x8 plank of pine. it was a lot cheaper to buy one board rather than buy precut. I think it was $11 for the one plank.
