New Chinchilla Owners
« on: November 08, 2010, 12:03:47 AM »

Hello everyone! My husband and I are new chilla owners since last week Wed.  :::grins::
We are enjoying our chillas very much. However, there are so many things we do not know about them. We hope to be able to find a support group here for our continuing journey with our chillas.
We have a black mosaic and a white and pink chinchilla; Ridley is the blakc mosaic and Saurumon is the white and pink.

This is a great website and it's great to be able to connect with fellow chinchilla owners.

 ;)

Congrats, time and patience is your best bet, give them space so they aren't scared but don't just leave them alone either.  They need to trust you, try putting oats in your hand and let them eat off your hand.  Some just do not like to leave the safety of their cage and some may never like to just be held.  Good luck and yes you should find many helpful things on this site.

And a big welcome to the club and the world of chinchillas.

Chins live nice long lives so don't rush things, let them get used to the new smells 7 sounds. Just like us some adjust quite quickly while others take their own sweet time. Enjoy every day  ::nod::

Yes, they seems to be adjusting very well now.

They have become quiet bold as well, the minute we open the cage door they want to jump out. but they don't want our assistance. lol they keep trying to move our hands by scratching and sometimes light biting.

Thanx!! They're really mischievous creatures. We've had them for sometimes now lol so everything is going good. They are always doing something they shouldn't be. It's very entertaining.

They are so much fun  :) enjoy them.
