Treats
« on: January 19, 2011, 10:15:48 AM »

I was just wondering when it's safe to start giving baby chins treats. Is there a general rule of thumb? My little boy is almost 4 months old and he sees the big girls getting their treats and throws a fit if he doesn't get a little piece of something too.

oh yes, the i see i want... just like kids  :2funny:

6 mos is the rule of thumb.

would if you try, just handing the younger one, a pellet or piece of hay, as crazy as that sounds, it works sometimes  :2funny:... i do it alot with my guys.. they take it and eat it up... she'll never know its not the same thing... since she has something of her own, she should be more concerned with eating hers instead of checking out what her roommate has.

best of luck.

My boys didnt get anything sweet until 6 months.  At 4 months i threw them a cherrio once in a GREAT while.  They are doing great, we spoil them and love each and every one.

i don't know if i will say this correctly, for some reason i have a mental block about this one, i think its because their systems just cannot handle treats yet, i'm not sure if maybe they are still devoping or what, but you should wait for 6 mos. also, you could cause soft poop, i was like you and gave angel a treat once before she was 6 mos and she ended up getting soft poop..
