Quiet squeaks
« on: June 05, 2011, 12:43:04 AM »

We take Jose out to have his playtime in the bathroom. The past few times we have taken him the bathroom to play, he makes these really quiet muffled squeaks while he is playing. Does that mean he is happy?

I have heard mine do that also....my guess would be yes and they seem to do that as they are jumping and running about in playtime. In my experiences with all 5 of my chinnies, that sound is never associated with a disagreement with their cage BFF. It is almost as if one of my girls does it as she is pouncing around, bouncing off the walls and landing on the floor. Nutty creatures, they are!  rofl

I've had six chinchillas and all of them have squeaked quietly during playtime as they investigate all the little low shelves and corners of the room. I've always taken it to mean they were enjoying themselves. Well, actually, 5 of the 6 have squeaked quietly. One of them we've nicknamed "shoutymouse" because she looks more like a mouse than a chinchilla and she goes about her play time, squeaking so loud that sometimes I'm sure the neighbours will hear her!

don't you just love listening to that.. i do.. i don't use the kitchen to often for playtime, but when i do, and lately i did a few times this week, the girls were just so happy, i think cuz they were in a different room, they were being so "squeaky"..
