Chin mom loosing hair...is it normal?

Me again and my silly questions :)
I noticed today that my female chinchilla lost some fur around one of the teats (I hope it's written correctly)
Is this normal? I mean, I know the kits have teeth and are nursing alot but I just want to make sure that it's a normal thing to happen during nursing.
The missing fur patch is around half a square inch.

yes that's normal, helps with the access to the milk. keep an eye out for any redness or swelling or cuts (these would be mastitis symptoms but you'd also notice that she would not let them nurse and she'd be running away from them)

just to add, there may be some cuts as the babies have teeth - rather sharp teeth! - but these would be excessive if there was inflammation (babies would bite harder to get the milk out - my poor fluffy had this first time round, it wasn't fun for anybody involved!)

I haven't checked in the past few hours since I just got home and the kits are sleeping underneath her but I'm guessing that she's nursing them aswell in the meanwhile.
Regardless... I'll keep you informed :)

no need to check them too often! as long as everybody's happy and thriving, it's all good! the less stress the better! i found out there was something wrong because the babies were not putting weight on and she was running away from them!
