my rescue boy gizmo
that day i walked into the pet shop i saw a dirty cage on the shelf, i peered inside only to find a dirty scruffy matted fluff ball cowering in the corner. in those few seconds i knew i was going to take you home. i raced home and prepared your cage and went back and collected you.
it had been some years since i had owner a chin as a child. you were a little timid but you soon warmed to us and were very keen to just be held and have a cuddle. i took you to a vet who told me you were an old chap, you were going blind, your tail had a nasty kink where it had been broken, you were bald all over your chest from fur biting and you feet were scabbed and bleeding and you had chewed and bleeding ears.
i was so heart broken by what they had done to you and what you had been through.
we nursed you back to health all your fur grew back you were so happy. you really did enjoy our company but i knew you were lonely we bought you home a male cage friend called gadget. you became inseparable the best of friends.
a few years went by and you always remained so friendly often sharing a piece of fruit or toast with me and a kiss.
one day i came home and you weren't right you had been loosing weight after a trip to the vets and some antibiotics you went on another few months.
one summers day i came home from work and you weren't moving laying in your fleece bed, i knew you had given up gadget was sitting next to you peeping and nudging you.
we took you straight to the vet nestling you in my arms each breath you took becoming harder and harder. you could not even lift your head. you fell asleep July 2009. i still miss you so much sleep tight my sweetest wee man xxxxx
