Cinsi has babies!!!!  I went out and there are 4  FOUR LITTLE ONES!
2 Ebony and 2 Tan....I don't know the sex yet, but I am going back out after lunch to check.  I don't want to disturb Cinsi too much since this is her first litter.  I did check and they all had their eyes open and trying to nurse.  She seems to be letting them snuggle with her very good.  I will keep you all posted and we will post some pictures when we can.

   CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!  Wow Janice, "4", no wonder sweet Cinsi was so miserable!  And her first litter too, unreal.  That's excellent news and glad to hear momma & babies are doing well.  What nice colors too!  Yes, please post pictures as soon as you can!
Make sure Cinsi is getting enough calcium not only for herself  but to produce enough milk to nurse those quads.

   Well, I just weighed my babies.  I have a tan, 56 grams,  tan, 42 grams,  ebony, 52 grams and ebony, 42 grams.  I tried to check for sex but when the baby squeaked, Cinsi was at the front of her cage in defense mode.  So I will have to check later....on today or definitely tomorrow!  They all felt like their little tummies were round so hopefully they are getting enough food (so far).

It is to early to tell about selling my babies.  I just started breeding to enjoy making my "animal" family grow.  My husband, of course, wants to sell them.  Time will tell.  Right now, I just am enjoying being a new Grandmama!

Hey new grandma! WOW!  Wonderful weights for quads!
     Poor Cinsi, I bet she was a butter ball!  I am so glad to hear she came through it OK ... it's hard enough for a seasoned mom to have quads, but it really takes it's tole on new moms!  Mocha carried her set of quads low, but Jasmine carried her set of quads high (made her look top-heavy - she's the white mosaic in Breeding 101).
     Are you giving her vitamin C (500m every other day) & a calcium supplement? I'm sure she probably needs it with forming and now feeding all those little ones!
     Do you have papaya for her ... she could ingest allot of fur keeping that many babies clean and you don't want her to clog-up.
     Are you giving her Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice (not cocktail) mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water to get her to consume more liquids to produce more milk?
     If you use pedalite, it is only good for 24 hours after it is opened.  I usually get the Gerber's individual servings that have apple flavor ... keeps you from wasting allot. Do not mix the pedalite with anything ... they get it straight.  I usually keep 3 bottles on the cage with quads ... water ... pedilite ... and cranberry juice/water mix.
     There's also a powder mix for a shake you can get at the health-food store if she seems to be getting run down, all my moms of quads showed the stress/weakness by the time the kits were 2 weeks old.  I'll find the name of it if you want to try it.

I have the cranberry juice on Cinsi's cage along with a bottle of water.  I am going to the store tonight to buy pedialyte.  Is there a certain flavor that I sould get?  She started drinking the juice as if she was thirsting to death.  She loves it!

I have a fiesty little black ebony (the small one).  It is a girl and she is jumping on the larger tan one which is also a girl.  I took her out and gave her a little talking to and told her to be nice to her sister.  I don't know if it will do any good or not....I will have to watch her close.

I checked and as I can tell ...we have 3 girls (2 tan and 1 ebony) and 1 boy(ebony).   But who knows that may change after a day or so when I recheck their little bottoms.

Jo Ann Please, let me know what the shake mix is called.  I want to keep Cinsi as strong as she can be with all these little mouths to feed.

Hi Janice,
      Spectrum Nutritional Shake by NutriBiotic, is vegetarian based, you use a heaping teaspoon full + 1/2 teaspoon powdered vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbate) and mix that with 3 teaspoons of baby food.  I use banana, applesauce, pears and/or carrots. Which ever on they seem to like best.  If they don't have that, tell them you want something as close to that as you can get, but it must be vegetarian based.

CA Chins has a great vitamin supplement on their site:
Vitamin Mixture
Combine equal parts of: 
•    Sodium Ascorbate Powder [vitamin C]
•    Green Papaya Powder
•    Vionate multivitamin powder for pets
Add:
•     5 teaspoons of wheat germ
Mix well and refrigerate.
1/2 teaspoon per chin per week.

Jo Ann, should the CA Chins vitamin mix be used only for nursing moms and moms-to-be, or can it be used for any chin?

  Any chin, according to California Chins, on their web site, it can be given 1/2 to 1 teaspoon per week, as a vitamin supplement.
