Silent chin

i have googled chinchilla vocalization and it's so cute! But our chin only made sounds once that we know of. Is that normal ?

My chin doesn't talk too much either, in fact I've never heard him bark before. He only coos during his playtime (usually when hes on my head). I do know that chins will be more vocal when there is another chin (like a conversation!)
