New baby help
« on: April 09, 2012, 11:31:11 PM »

So I've had my chinchilla pepper for a while now but just today got a new white mosaic baby!!! She's in her separate cage of course and all but my question is she is just crying for a while now is there anything i can do to help her along? or is there nothing and she just misses her mom

Thanks so much guys

Edit:
She's doing a little better now, not barking as much, but my concern now is for now i can't really tell if she is eating or drinking, no much change in bottle or bowl. She's really young, breeders said it was fine for her to finally leave April 5th. If you can't tell i'm just really worried about her. Any input guys?

If your chin is not eating or drinking you have a serious problem on your hands. You may need to hand feed and water your chin if this is the case or it will die. I recommend you talk to the breeder about this ASAP.

Is she at least eating hay? Sometimes chinchillas get stressed with the transition to a new home and refuse to eat their pellets or drink water the first day or two. They always eat their hay though...  If she isn't too young, it could just be her being a little stressed out. How long has she gone without water?

She may nibble on hay only, which is what most newcomers will do when they get to their new home. Usually a day or two passes and they start eating their pellets once again when they settle in.

 :)  Congratulations on your new kit!
 ::silly::  By the way, are both kits the same sex?   ::silly::

What color is Pepper?

What name have you given to your little white mosaic?

Post pictures, please!   :::grins::
