Where to start.... Chinchillas aren't real common here and there are no shows so we've slowly collected a breeding group from people who do show driving through the area and picking up individuals from around Chicago about 4 hours from us. Drove up to Madison for our latest one.
This is probably our favorite, Katsu. He is so photogenic. He was shown and used in run breeding before we got him and we've started using him for pair breeding. His first litter is due any day and hopefully the 2nd female is bred for May.
Katsu's females
Aika-big fluffy standard. Not real social and very agile. She can run across the roof of her cage upside down. I'm guessing she just builds enough centrifugal force as she goes up one side and then hits the roof and then comes down the other side. She is due with Katsu's first litter.
Aime- very friendly hetero beige and a good size and coat. Currently housed with Katsu.
Hachiro- medium ebony. Recovering from a large litter produced with Hajime.
Hajime- medium ebony male.
Hajime x Hachiro litter. 3 medium ebony. Keeping the biggest, fluffiest male to replace Hajime and selling Hajime with the smaller of his sons for pets because his conformation and coat are not high enough quality.
Young females not ready to breed yet. Will probably cross to the ebony kit we are keeping.
Keck ebony white.
(temp cage before introductions)
Inada hetero biege.
Keck and Inada vid. Click to play. May want to mute volume first.
New hetero beige male. Retired from run breeding and not really bought with the intention to breed but may get 1 litter of attempted tan or homo beige from him.
