Mr Cagney Eye
« on: February 06, 2010, 02:37:36 AM »

Changed the drops to Gentocin liquid and he did alot better, he has that for 10 days at 2 a day. He and Bogart had their bath, and I took a wash cloth and wiped Cagneys lil face and head, so we will see how that does. Also, cleaned out their bath container.

I thank you for the advice on changing his eye med, the vet readily gave it w/o a problem, the ointment is harder to use though.

Our vet reccommends the rice krispies for them as they are lower in suger, and they love cheerios, this is mixed in their food in a bin.

Laurie,
So glad to hear that Cagney's eye is better! That's great news, and it's nice that your vet is open to suggestions from you. Keep up the good work!
In terms of snacks, I think whole grain cheerios would be healthier than the  rice krispies(i.e. less refined). Unsweetened shredded wheat mini squares are a good treat too...

I can't seem to post a new thread for whatever reason... but I did want to ask if Rice Krispies (or any plain puffed rice cereal; I have the one from Trader Joe's, which I find to be generally less full of chemicals) are an acceptable treat for chins.

Turns out there was a big technical issue with the server. It took days to straighten it out. We're back now.
