Eating Cage Door
« on: January 25, 2017, 08:59:07 PM »

Hello,

I have two chinchillas named Moca and Snow White. Their cage is really big and has two door, one high and one low. I always take them outside by the high one but one day I decided to do it with the lower one. Now Moca won't stop chewing on the metal door, gripping it with her teeth and shaking it hard. It's really annoying because the cage is in my room and it keep waking me up at night. I don't know what to do.

Can somebody help me?
Thanks

PS: sorry if my English is bad, it's not my first language.

You probably can't do much about it. If you react to it and go over to the chinchillas when they do that it will reinforce the behavior.
You might consider getting a better cage where they the door will not rattle when they pull on it.

They are trying to get your attention. Ignoring them is the best thing to do
