Snow in Arizona!
« on: January 21, 2007, 11:00:40 PM »

I know that it snows all over the country (and in other countries) on a regular basis, but it isn't a norm in these parts of Arizona.  It hasn't snowed as much as it did today in several years!  It was absolutely gorgeous and, as soon as I was off of work and had the opportunity, I had to capture some images to help my memory in years to come.

One of my favorites is the image of the paw prints in the snow.  To me, it demonstrates the perserverance of but also the devistation of stray animals.  Imagine how difficult it would be to be homeless (whether you're an animal or a person) at this time of year.

The other image is another of my favorites because it is so unique.

Great pictures!  Wow, I guess if you got snow, so did my sister!  We are going to have to call her and get the scoop on it.  She is probably soooooo excited about having snow.  She's been in Tucson forever but we grew up in PA with lots of snow!!!!

Depending on where in Tucson she is, she may have gotten even MORE snow.  The Foothills and the mountains obviously got even more snow than we did.  I was clapping and smiling the whole time it was coming down.  I imagine most of it is gone now, but I have yet to venture outside to see...   ;D

wow! It's been weird weather all over. I live in SoCal and it snowed here not too long ago. It's so strange. I think this is our first morning where it isn't cold and windy.

Not sure what the area is called that she now lives but it is the 85741 area.  She recently sold her house and moved from the 85711 area.

I actually didn't think it was all that cold yesterday...  The high was 50.  But I think it dipped down to about 32 when it was snowing.   :::grins::

Oh!  She's out towards Oro Valley now.  She used to live pretty central.  (My high school was in the 85711 area.)  It may have snowed even more out her way.  Sometimes the weather is more severe the closer to the outskirts of town you get.

It was in the low 30s here for a few days and really windy in the mornings. It was nicer today temp wise, but the wind was still pretty bad. It's beautiful out today.  ::silly:: I wish I could be outside instead of cooped up in the office.

I love it when it's cold, but I really dislike the wind.  I sympathize...  It's been windy here lately too.
