Beagle Paws Pet Expo, I took a chin.
« on: June 04, 2007, 01:24:23 PM »

Hi all,
Our Beagle rescue group had a pet expo this past weekend, and I was asked to bring a chin to their,"Parade Of Pets"
We had a blast, and Vincent was perfect.
He eats up the attention, and loves going on outings.
He made friends with a Newfoundland Dog, though the Newfie wasn't quite sure what he was. ;D and kept looking at his owner after going nose to nose with Vincent.
I just love going to things like this, you meet the nicest people.
Looks like I see a  corn snake in my future. ;)
Any way check out the pics.

That is really cool!  I wouldn't dare take any of my chinchillas out like that...I would be afraid they would have a heart attack ....being scared to death.

Oh, Debbie, please don't get a snake.....I would be worried about one of my baby chinchillas being a snack for the snake.   ::puke::

Corn Snakes make great pets.  My father has always had snakes and bred snakes and the corn snakes were always my favorite.  He had one that I would take out of the cage and play with for hours.  Its funny how your fears change as you grow up.  I thought nothing about hugging his snakes when I was younger but you can't pay me to touch one today!  :D

Check out that picture of the girl with the bearded dragon.  I thought mine was fully grown...but I guess not!

Love the pictures! Thanks for sharing.

I am the exact opposite. I was horrified of spiders& bees, and never thought I'd touch a snake. We don't have any here in the wild.
Now, I'll play with a tarantula, swat bees, move spiders so they can still catch, and I fell in love with the corn snake. :D
This couple have just paired their first pair of corn snake, and my name is on an egg.

Yes Jenova we has a great time.

I have a leash for my chinnys...they didnt like it at first but I trained them with a raisin....as I put it on them I hold a raisin in front of the chin...while they are interested in the raisin they stay still and know that its ok...sooner or later they just get used to it and love running around with it on...After I take it off I always reward them for being so good with it.... ::nod::

So it's okay to put chins on a leash? I was wondering about this...

That is SO cool! I wonder if I could train my chins to walk on a leash....although I'm not sure where I'd take um... LOL
Is it a rabbit, cat, or ferret harness? Or does it not matter?

Just a small animal harness, and some hate it. Most my males love it.
I take them out on the deck or in the back yard, a walk to the corner store, but I carry them. It's just for security, they don't follow the lead like a dog. I follow them. ;)
