Have you noticed this with your chins???
« on: June 16, 2007, 12:34:26 AM »

I was just wondering...everytime I clean my chins cages and put nice fresh bedding in you would think my chins would be excited about the fresh bedding...most of my chins...push, kick, and throw their bedding to just one side of their cage for bathroom purposes....they hate the bedding!!...they like sleeping on the bare pan rather then on their bedding...I finally only put a little amount of bedding in their cages now because before I would come back later and find all the bedding on THE FLOOR!!!...So they only get a little bit in their for bathroom purposes and they still throw all of that to one side...as soon as I put those little stinkers in they immediately get to work on pushing to the side of the cage...out of their hut...just wondering if anyone else deals with this...lol :2funny:

::silly:: Chins usually like the feel of metal for one of 2 reasons ... they are hot and metal cools them (that's why I ask about the room temperature) ... OR ... they like the feel of the metal.

Is the metal you are referring to wire or solid metal?

LOL I have a few that do the same thing, though not for peeing.  They clear sections of the cage floor to sleep on.  I have never been able to figure out why.  I have used several different styles of cages with different types of floors, and the same chins do it in every cage they can.  Maybe it's just a personality thing.   ::shrug::

Some of mine do and some don't, I think it is a personality thing. They have flat metal on their bottoms, I don't use wire bottom cages anymore.
