Diarrhea and Acidophillis
« on: June 15, 2007, 09:36:44 PM »

My nursing Female chin is having some bad soft stool.  It is getting flattened and stuck to the top of her house when her and her babies jump around.
What can I give her to stop the Diarrhea?  I have acidophillis capsules to restore all the good bacteria.
I have been feeding her hay and her pellets, oat supplement and animax supplement.  Its part of her regular meal plans.
Do any of these cause soft stool like this?
Suggestions are welcome and appreciated :-)  ::silly:: Thanks Guys!

Burnt toast is what works for me...I mean burnt black....that always helps my chinnys bellys and I follow the burnt toast with half a calcium TUMS...gets rid of it really quick...just make sure she is getting lots of fluids...chins get dehydrated really easy....if you gave her acidophillis and even try some live bacteria dannon yogurt..and
the burnt toast should get rid of it rather quickly...just make sure you get all the soft poo away from the babies and the mother...the soft poo could get the kits sick especially if they go and eat it and that would be a big mess... ::nod::

I can almost never get my chins to eat the toast!  They'll take a nibble and then drop it and look at me like "That's all?!!! What else have you got?"  I have found the easiest thing to get into their system is a small spoonful of live active culture yogurt--usually strawberry.  I also give spoon size shredded wheat (without the frosting) for mild cases of soft stool.
