I know I read that you have just gotten him- and yes, that is normal. The first week or so chins will make noises and be skitish while they are getting used to their new home. Just about every single one of my chins made noises. Different sounds are for different feelings. The "eek eek" sound, growling or a snarling sound means he is frightened. They usually go into a corner to hide and make this noise. A squeal or loud cry means hes super scared.
Just give him some time. Try to leave him alone or talk sweetly and back away to give him space and let him calm down. You really should wait until he is not so scared to get him out. Sit by his cage and talk, then move onto holding your hand still in his cage and letting him come up and smell it, then slowly move your fingers and once he is ok with that try rubbing his chest ir collar bone. they LOVE that. It will take at least a week for him to calm down and get used to you and his new place.
