Post by: zenz on May 01, 2008, 02:36:58 AM
I'm Thai ppl and lived in Thailand.
My female chin just delivered her twin yesterday. She is a standard one and her b/f is silver white one ( Thai ppl called)
In thailand, the ppl don't have a strong knowledge about the chin because the temperature here is too much and then Not much ppl got chin be a pet.

I'm really not sure the color name of my male chin, I attached his pic for youguys please identify his color.

And the next question, I got 2 babies chin, their color are something a little bit like her mom but their tail were white and their body color look like mosaic. Please tell me about the color name of my twin babies.

Thank you all for helping.

If you guys confused with my vocabulary and gramma, I'm so sorry.  :::grins::

Welcome to the Chinchilla Club!   ::nod::

Congratulations on your two kits!   ::clapp::

To me the kits look like white mosaics.  They will change in looks until about six months of age.  One week they may look more gray and the next week they may be more white.  The father looks like a white mosaic or a white ebony (his ears are so dark).

Temperature needs to be kept around 70 degrees F.  I don't know what that is in Celsius.  Any temperature over 76 degrees F can cause heat stroke and they can die.

Hope this helps.....see you around the forums!!   :)

21 degrees Celsius is what all the books say on chins but I like to keep them below that at about 19 degrees. :)

Congratulations on the babies.

Hello--Congratulations on your new babies!!  From the looks of the pictures, the one looks like a white mosaic & a very nice looking one at that.  Send more pictures in about a month.  I would love to see the changes in the color. Talk to you again sometime in Chinclub land.......JANE     ::nod::

The father's eyes also look quite dark in the pictures.  Ear color does not determine whether or not an animal carries the ebony gene.  The father looks like a white mosaic to me and so does his kit.  Very nice looking chins!
