Tonight me and my chin bonded! or something like that..way after his bath and playtime I opened the cage door to change his food and stroke him, and the little guy just wouldn't leave me alone! I took him out and held him and he seemed perfectly content - he usually never likes to be held. I carried him around the house showing my family and Donny was completely relaxed. Once i thought that was enough I took him back to his cage and he's like nuh-uh I want to be with you. So, I take him for another round around the house and the same thing happens, Donny didn't wanna get off my arm! I put him back in his cage and he just jumped back in my arms. After one final trip around the house I felt that was enough.
I guess my Donny was just thanking me for giving him new furniture and toys! ;) ;)
Kinda random post, but I was / am very happy! :::grins::

You should be very happy! It takes time and patience for some chinchillas to warm up to a person. You have good reason to celebrate! Sounds like you and Donny have really bonded!! ::nod::
Be sure to give Donny a treat and extra scratches! :::grins::

Congratulations! That's great news. ::kiss99::

Awwww, that's awesome! As one chin site member told me, "it only gets better!" and they were right! :::grins::

hey cool! good work ::nod::
the only thing now is like you're gonna be wanting to go to sleep or go out, but he really wants to play. You're like "I need to go to sleep now" and he's gonna be like "No wait please play with me i want to stay with you no don't go wait stop don't why are you doing this to me?!?!?" *reaching for you with his short funny arms and looking at you with big black eyes* while you lock him in his cage. :2funny:
all in all though, it's really rewarding when your chin wants to be held.
