Title: IS a tin can a safe toy

I was reading in a blog today that an owner puts a big glass jar in the cage and their chins love to play with it and sleep in it. I don't have a big enoiugh glass jar, but I do have tin cans. I was wandering if that would be safe to put in the cage.  ;)

I wouldn't recommend a metal can, just because some chins chew metal.  If the can is aluminum they can and will eat it, and that can cause problems in their intestines.  I would stick with glass.  Glass fish bowls work very well.  I use them to give dust baths.  They are chew-proof and easy to sanitize.
