Title: Pogo's tooth
Post by: Hoppinchins on February 02, 2009, 10:46:30 AM
I knoticed a few days ago that pogo's tooth is alot longer than snowies. I'm not sure how his got so long. I always have chew toys in the cage and I switch them out so they don't get bored with them. I'm afried that its to long and hes having trouble getting it shorter. Is there anything I can do? I was thinking about taking him to a vet but thats a few hours away.

Tooth problems can be a big problem if not dealt with properly.  You shoudl probably go ahead and take him to the vet just to be checked.  If she feels his teeth are too long she has a few options available to help him, including clipping his teeth, or filing them.  The big thing is checking all of his teeth to make sure none of the others are overgrown.  He might be having problems with the back ones, where you can't see it, and that might cause him a lot of trouble eating.  If it were me, I would take him to the vet to be sure.  Better safe than sorry!

Thanks. Yeah I'd rather be safe than sorry. I was just hoping there would be a closer vet that I could take him to.

I took my chins to the vet on Saturday. They are both healthy! Pogo's tooth was fine. I guess I was worried about nothing.

::silly::  Much better to be safe than sorry!   ::nod::

Can you post pictures of the teeth of each one?

What 's the difference in age between the two?

What does each one weigh?

I can try to take pictures of pogo's tooth, but i'm not sure if I will be able to. They are both about 4 months old. I'm trying to rember how much they weighed. I don't realy remember how much they weight. I think they each weighed around 1.1 oz. Does that sound right? I know the vet said they were the right size for their age.

Sorry its taking me awhile to write back. I'v been soo busy with school latley.
