Thanks! ;)

thanks!

Very awesome cages! Are they custom built??
-
Yes, me and my dad built them out of closets. A lot of work but worth it, their massive.

I just LOVE your habitat! Please tell me what the white material is that you built them with! I am planning to build a custom habitat for our Mom, for after weaning, and Babe after he has been,um, fixed. I want it to be safe, and fun, and clean. Yours looks like all those things. Just wonderful! :::grins::

Thank you very much. It's melamine, so are the ledges. It's melamine is so easy to clean up. Very easy. And safe.

Wow! THey are just gorgeous! I have been overruled in the custom cage area though. Apparently there is a beautiful premade habitat, that we can order from our local pet shop. My daughter wants that. I think she is nervous about the whole 'home made' look, lol. Well , she is 13, and as sweet as pie, so a premade cage it is! (But I will always secretly envy YOURS!) ;)

Thanks! That is so sweet to get that for your daughter and don't worry I won't tell her. lol ;)

I noticed you also have the cut edges covered in metal ... ::thumbsup:: ... other wise they would chew into it and the glue could kill them. Great job!
I noticed where you had to put a shelf up where the two holes lined up, where the chin would fall 2 floors, good solution to a possible hazard! Good thinking~
Looks like the perfect cage ... only one thing I would do to help it ... get some cross ventilation (just the natural air flow) in the back. :) Fresh air is always needed.
That must have taken a long time and allot of work, but it shows it, too. Beautiful!

Yep, the metal is so the little buggers don't chew threw, it works GREAT! I was hoping it would. My dad and me built them and he said they won't chew threw there will they? I said in a matter of seconds. It took a lot time and work but worth it, they are about 8 years old.

Courtney your cage looks awesome. Did you guys build that from scratch or modify an existing cabinet. I am asking because I would like to modify a china closet that I have and was wondering if I could get some tips. I was thinking of covering the inside with melamine and putting all new shelves in. I know that I need to cover edges of melamine with metal but what else should i know?
Thanks

Thanks. No, it was a closet and we made it into the cage. We cut the door into squares and put the grate (forget what it's called) up. What you should know is they eat everything so what you need to do is protect it with the metal. Then they can't chew it. We cut little holes in the sides of the cage so they can get threw and put the metal up.

Thanks for the info. I will let you know how it is going and post pictures when/if I finish it.
