:) Ok, how do I feed my chinchilla yoghurt? Do I freeze it in cubes? Or put it in a cup? I can't begin to imagine how this is done without a huge mess rofl
I have a young male kit about to be weaned, and I would like to make sure he is getting everything he could possibly need, nutritionally. Help please ? ::think::

When I wean I wean at 8 weeks, they go to a cage with other young chinchillas of the same sex or alone and eat hay, pellets and water. I am not sure why you are feeding yogurt, Good quality feed and water and hay are all they need.

If you are set on feeding them yogurt, they do have yogurt drops on chinnie websites and at the Commercial Pet stores (however, I like to buy from the chin specialty stores.) I only give them as a treat once in a while...I do not think they should be a regular thing.

I thought I read that they should have it for a calcium supplement. Although yoghurt drops for a treat makes a lot more sense. You gotta admit, them with it all over their little faces, and cleaning their little noses and whiskers is a funny thought! ::nod::
Our little Mother's name is Miss Persephone, but I call her Miss Persnickity!

I only feed yogurt to sick chins that are not eating, but a lick now and then won't hurt.
Just dip your finger in the tub and let them lick it off. ;)
