Reuby's feet are looking a little chapped.. his toes are peeling a little and the back part of his feet are pretty pink... From what I've read, it's from wire bottom cages, which he has, but I have it covered in tile and/or fleece liners, and the rest are wooden and pumas stone perches.. so there is really only a tiny area where he would be standing on the wire...
A, what should I do to help his little feet?
B, what should I do to prevent this from happening again?!

someone else just had a foot problem..but it was something else, and of course i forgot what it was called.
if they are truly just chapped you can use bag balm.
and for the cage, on the wire floor, put something down, like a decent size safe wood piece so he can rest his feet off the wires..

I agree try some Bagbalm and giving him more space to get off the wire... If it doens't clear up it may be bumblefoot and that requires a vet

Do you have the dust bath in all the time? When I first got Cheech I was given bad advice by the pet shop to do this. Her feet got really dry and cracked this but when I took it out and let her have it a few times a week instead it cleared up.

I have the same problem =[ Bambi's feet are red and it's dry. I have no idea why. I cover most of his cage floor so his feet doesn't really touch the wires, only when he needs to pee, his "toilet" is not covered. And I let him take his bath about 2/3 times a week. Help pls!
