Title: What's going on in Ohio?
Post by: cadillactaste on February 16, 2011, 04:06:45 PM
So they have this exotic pet ban...Chinchillas are NOT on the list. But 7 constrictor snakes are. But my Ball Python isn't so it doesn't effect me...I won't need a permit.

BUT

On the reptile forum...

Seems now they have banned all incoming non native animals period, wow

So what does that mean to those breeders in Ohio with chinchillas? And what...I won't be able to get more once my son grows up and moves away with his?

All incoming means imported from outside the country...chinchillas will not be affected

Well that's a relief! I was concerned to say the least...since Chinchillas are not native to our country.

Thats good to know. I live in Ohio. When I sow this title I was a bit worried.

I wonder why they are doing this ban though.
