Title: Potty training madness
Post by: vcchinchilla on August 17, 2011, 01:47:09 PM
I never knew why my chinchilla never really use his potty

If anything he would pee right in front of it and or around it instead of in it

Always which was on his grass... The other day his hay box arrive .. I attached a little bit high on the wall...
The next morning I find pee stains on the cage wire wall and a wet shelf corner

Now I understand that be wants to pee on grass

And it's not like I don't put the wet bedding in his potty too!!!

Ideas people??

Muchly appreciated
Viki

did you put the potty directly over a spot where he did pee?  sometimes when you first start off you have to put the dishes in all the spots they go in, then slowly take them away one by one.

people who get thier chinchillas potty traied isn't as much training the chinchillas as training yourself to know where they like to pee

Exactly ,  ;)   once ye have decided on a spot it can be moved by moving pan/shavings and blocking the old spot.
