So. I got my first chinchilla from Mrs. Jamie (the owner of this site) with my girlfriend a week ago today. He was a little nervous in his new home, and would bark a little and lunge (never bite). That was day 1. Now he already comes to greet me at the cage (sometimes, he is a little moody but i like that), never lunges, never barks, lets my friends pet him and play with him. He's the best little guy ever. I've heard of people taking months to train their chinchillas, Rufus is almost completely tame after 6 full days. Today he has started grooming me a little bit, and when my girlfriend woke up she said he was at the door of the cage so she just picked him up and carried him around for a while. I still haven't really picked him up because I don't want him to think I'm GRABBING him but I could definately believe it. He is so sweet. I love him so much already, and so do all my friends that have met him so far. It's hard to believe he is so social that he was running around a group of almost 9 people last night totally fine. All petting him and reaching for him. Such a sweet little guy. He's the best.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I have wanted a chinchilla since the third grade. I'm almost 23 now, so it's been a loooooong wait for Rufus. And I couldn't possibly have gotten a better one!

Sorry, I disagree. Snickerdoodle is the best chinchilla ever. :p
Although i must admit, Rufus seems wonderful!
