Can my chin play with wooden blocks that my toddler had?
They have letter and number, but there is a layer of paint. I am unsure if I should add them...
I was thinking of boiling them to kill any bacteria, and maybe sanding down the painted sides.
Thoughts?

I know some the wood is special like maple tree etc. But it might be ok someone else will have to say. But you will have to sand down the paint id say wouldn't be safe since eating it, chewing it.

I'm standing by on the blocks and any other wood I have, the child has gotten older, and all the tinker toys(wood) and the Lincoln logs(we all remember those) are stored, so I figured could our other baby have those.
I am standing by until I can get an answer from someone I feel knows, so no bust, I am not trying to save a nickel, I was just thinking "would these work?"

I think it's sound in theory but it depends on what it is coated with. If it has antimicrobial stuff I would be afraid of toxicity to the organs if it's ingested. If there's a plastic coating or waterproofing that can flake off there may be a risk of mechanical irritation to the bowels. If it's just food dye or coloring I wouldn't be worried about it (although some will have a difference of opinion on that). So my advice is if you don't know what the coating is made of it's probably best to have a yard sale or donate to a charity and use untreated wood for your chin. Of course you want to know what the wood is too since not all woods are safe for chins.

i wouldnt use them, you dont know what type of wood they are made out of, what type of coloring etc...

Don't do it. The wood is likely toxic, and the paint is almost definitely not chin safe.
