What is the worst experience you've ever had as a result of being a chinchilla owner? Or even simply interacting with one? I'm curious :)

I got bitten by one at a pet store. He was shuddering first. Why was he shuddering? What does that mean?

You mean shaking all over?  That means he is terrified.

That could've been it... but he was shuddering, not really shaking.

And only when I put my hand in the cage to pet him. When the store employee put him hand in, the chinchilla kacked at him and shuddered again.
