I got a new hammock for Isadora and she absolutely loves it! So much that she is already jumping in and out, napping and CHEWING! I got a living world ferret hammock with "ultra durable material", but it doesn't actually list what the material is. My best guess is the outside is canvas and the inside is either cotton or fleece. I'm trying to spend time and teach her not to chew on it, and she won't while I'm in the room, but I would just like confirmation if I should leave her alone with it or just get a new one altogether.

Even if it is a cloth material that is recommended (like woven "fleece") if the chinchilla is eating it or chewing it the best thing to do is remove it. The reason fleece is recommended is because most chins won't chew it but those that do should not be given access to it. If threads are ingested they will ball up in the stomach carrying a high risk of a fatal bowel obstruction.

I had one of those too but since mine kept chewing on it got a fleece one to replace it. Like you said i couldn't tell what type it was ether.

This can cause impaction; it's best to remove it.
