S15 SURPRISE!
I didn't even know that she was pregnant, so I was very surprised when I came home, started feeding the chinchillas, and saw a tail sticking out from under Avra! I'm inclined to say this is a little Standard, but the back and ears are rather dark and there are some slight lines on the face that I tend to see in Black Velvet babies, so I may change my mind about the coloring as the baby grows.

Congratulations! I love surprise babies. :)

Congratulations! She is very cute! (of course, what chinchilla kit isn't?) ::nod::

::silly::Precious! What color are her parents?

How cute (all your kits are cuties though) Surprise Babies are the best kinds!

::silly::Hey, ChinchilAZ!
I found one this morning! ::fruit:: A beautiful little extra dark ebony female born to Little Amanda (med ebony) and Lucky (extra dark tan). I didn't even know she was going to have a kit. Surprises sure are nice!

How precious, Jo Ann! I'm hoping to have at least one Homo Eb born here at some point. I'll be VERY tempted to keep it... ::nod::

Yay! I love looking at baby pics! Congratulations!!! ;)

::silly::How many ebonies do you have in breeding?
They are beautiful and precious ... but do not take photos well ... at least not till they get a little bigger. ::)
The tans and the ebony seem to be the hardest to get a true color on them in a picture, even with natural lighting.

I have my Beige/Dark Tan pair who threw a Dark Ebony boy for me and my Dark Ebony/Standard pair who threw a Dark Ebony female for me. Their offspring were paired this summer so that I have a Dark Ebony/Dark Ebony pair. I have a Homo Tan/Mosaic pair and then my most recent pair is TOV Mosaic/Medium Tan. So... 5 of my 8 pairs have Ebony in there in some form. But only one will have the possibility of throwing that Homo Eb I want. Which is probably good because I really don't need to keep any more here on a permanent basis. ;D
